2021 Ford Explorer Gets New XLT Sport Appearance Package

As the Ford Explorer celebrates its 30-year anniversary, it continues to be one of the best selling SUVs in the country. The 2020 Ford Explorer was completely redesigned from the ground up, and for 2021 it receives even more features, including a new XLT Sport Appearance Package.

Arriving at Tuttle-Click Ford Lincoln this summer, the 2021 Ford Explorer with the XLT Sport Appearance Package gets unique Carbonized Gray 20-inch wheels with a matching grille, skid plates and hood lettering. It also receives dual chrome exhaust tips to complete the sporty look.

The interior features unique ActiveX Light Slate two-tone seats that feature accent stitching, and the center console lid and door trim panels match as well. When versions of the Sport Appearance Package were offered in the past, it accounted for one-quarter of Explorer XLT sales.

One in five Explorer buyers have also been choosing the Ford Explorer ST, with many trading in vehicles from luxury brands. The 400-horsepower Explorer ST was designed for performance enthusiasts, and offers better power and handling than any Explorer in Ford’s history.

If you would like to learn more about the all-new Ford Explorer, visit us today at Tuttle-Click Ford Lincoln in Irvine, CA and take one for a test drive.

Are you searching for a full-size SUV for your next daily driver? Well, if so, we here at Tuttle-Click Ford would love the opportunity to match you up with ours, the 2017 Explorer.

And what is it that this big-bodied beaut brings to the table?

The vehicular gurus at Autotrader explain all in the clip below. Have at it right here:

In base form, the Explorer receives a 3.5-liter V6 engine as standard. Teaming with a six-speed automatic transmission, this six-banger produces a healthy 290 horsepower and 255 pound-feet of torque, and is available with your choice of either front- or all-wheel drive.

The range-topping Sport and Platinum trims, meanwhile, up the ante significantly. Outfitted with a turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine, these models make a massive 365 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. Better still, all-wheel drive is standard.

If you’d like to meet this mind-bending machine “in the metal,” or wish to put one through its paces on the open road, we encourage you to pay us a visit at our Irvine, CAlocation. Upon your stopover, we’ll be sure to set you up with a test drive in the Explorer, or any other Ford model you might’ve had in mind.
