Ford Recalls 2017 Ford Super Duty Cars for Minor Safety Detail

Ford says nearly 8,000 2017 Ford Super Duty trucks must be reviewed, and as a safeguard, a fuel tank strap reinforcement must be implemented.

Vehicles affected include some cars manufactured from Aug. 10, 2016, to Sept. 17, 2016, at Kentucky Truck Plant. Bring in your 2017 Ford Super Duty, and we will look at the reinforcement bracket on the No. 3 cross member at the front fuel tank strap attachment site. If your car doesn’t have one, we will install it for you, free of charge.

Why you Need a Fuel Tank Strap Support

If you do not have one, it could get whacked out of place, fall on the ground, and cause a potential fuel leak. If it’s close to an ignition source, it could drastically increase the probability of starting a fire. Ford, however, has not heard of any issues associated with this problem.
